Basic Science Department

Department of Applied Sciences consists of four departments :
  1. Engineering Mathematics
  2. Engineering Physics
  3. Engineering Chemistry
  4. Electrical Engineering

These departments are part of engineering undergraduate courses and started functioning since academic year 2008-09. All the above subjects are compulsory for First Year Engineering curriculum.

There are well equipped laboratories of Physics and Chemistry having modern equipment like Michelson's interferometer, G.M. Counter, Newton's rings assembly, He-Ne Laser etc. in Physics laboratory and conductivity meter, photo flame, pH meter, oven, electronic balances etc. in Chemistry laboratory. The department is enriched with well qualified and experienced faculty.English Language LaboratoryThe department is having English Language Laboratory having Globarena software to increase English proficiency among the students. The students make full use of this laboratory to improve their Communication skills.

Department of Civil Engineering at AITS deals with natural and man-made environment- their planning, design, construction and management. It encompasses many disciplines including Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Hydraulics & Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, and Engineering Geology. It is responsible for the largest quantum of resource allocation and utilization in activities ranging from defense to industrial development to social welfare, food production and economic growth. As a student proceeds along the program, the emphasis shifts from analysis to design, and from theoretical skill development to the practical problem-solving approach.

The Department has a separate building with adequate space. To cater to the needs of Civil Engineering industry, the department has modern equipments and advanced computing facilities. It is devoted to fulfill the requirements of standard testing of civil engineering materials on a modest scale. The Faculty members are well qualified with rich experience in their respective fields. Its goal is to develop Creative and inspired Civil Engineers who will lead the nation for overall infrastructural development.
